David Strah, MA, AMFT

David is a pre-licensed psychotherapist working with both individuals and couples. His style is to work collaboratively with clients to help them identify their goals and empower them to achieve those goals. David has helped clients decrease and overcome anxiety, depression, substance use, ADHD, and codependency. His professional experience also includes coming out, sexual identity, improving relationships with romantic partners, family members and co-workers, and gender transitioning.


David completed his masters in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in LGBT Affirmative Therapy at Antioch University, Los Angeles and a second masters in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.  He completed a year training at the LA LGBT Center and is furthering his training at the Southern California Counseling Center.  David is also the co-author of Gay Dads: A Celebration of Fatherhood (Penguin/Putnam 2002).  His children, both adopted at birth, are in high school and college.  David’s book has helped hundreds of people navigate the process of becoming a parent through adoption, foster care, surrogacy and co-parenting with women. 


David is currently completing his clinical hours towards MFT licensure under the supervision of Paul Keeley, MFT. He is available during the week and weekends for new clients seeking sliding scale payment options. Please visit his website below for more information or contact him directly.
